I need help with - Correct positioning of the Vandercook SP15 trip springs
“Hi everyone! Good morning! Could you help me with a question? The carriage on my Vandercook SP15 is binding. It only moves about 10 centimeters after leaving the feed board before it jams. After a closer look, I noticed that the leaf trip springs are installed differently on each side. On the operator’s side, the spring is hooked around the back pin and sits loose under the front pin. On the gear side (opposite side), it is hooked around the front pin and sits loose under the back pin. I am very confused about what the correct position of these springs should be. Should the spring hook around both pins, or is it supposed to hook around only one pin while the other end remains loose? Can anyone help me out?”
