Web site url getting saved to profile incorrectly.

Hello Briar folks…
Profile page save adds
several extra characters
(“&amp”).
I’ve been unable to effectively delete
this automatic addition.
Waz’up?
Thanks.

BTW I did go to the Tech Assist Request page
and repeatedly got errors on the upload.

Using I-Mac & Safari.

Calvert,

The additional characters may not actually cause a problem. Browsers don’t see spaces in URLs and will add the kind of characters you are talking about. For instance a blank space will turn into %20 while an ampersand may translate to &amp. When I click on your link this is what my browser translates to:

http://web.mac.com/prairieprinter/iWeb/Site/KC%20Center%20for%20the%20In...

The site loads without a problem.

To solve your complications simply take out any problematic characters and replace spaces with underscores.

Hope that helps.

Brad.

Calvert,

I too am on a Mac with Safari. Try control clicking and ‘copy link’ here:

http://web.mac.com/prairieprinter/iWeb/Site/KC%20Center%20for%20the%20In...

Then paste that into your profile. Hopefully that will work.

Short of that you will need to rename the HTML file from:

KC Center for the Ink & Paper Arts.html

to

KC_Center_for_the_Ink_and_Paper_Arts.html

I replaced the ampersand just to be safeā€¦ always good practice.

If you wanted to make your life a little easier you may consider:

KCCIPA.html or kccipa.html (the files will be case sensitive)

Send me an email from my profile if you need help.

Best,
Brad.

All fixed!
Brad Dicharry showed me how to get it working.
