8 x 12 C&P - Date?

I recently picked up an 8 x 12 C&P old series press and was wondering about the date of manufacture. The serial number is 29635. I’ve found a couple of places on line with serial number listings, but not for the old series 8 x 12 models.

29635 would have been manufactured in late 1895.
29701 is the first serial from 1896.
