i have a platen press. i no longer think it is a c & p probably a replica. i have purchased several chases for this press and none seem to fit. they are off by 1/8 of an inch or so. is this something that can be made custom? help! i cannot do anything if i cannot lock up a form in the press
your chases too wide? too narrow? too tall? too short? wrong bevels? cast iron chases fit alittle different than steel. more info needed
You might also post a photo of the press — your description is totally inadequate. Some presses that seem a little like a C&P are not very similar at all. Research will help, but respondents on this list can’t really help without a lot more info.
