Help with Golding Pearl #3

Hello All - I picked up a new press this weekend - a Golding Pearl #3. I am new to letterpress and have a couple of issues that need to be addressed. I will try to get my lingo right here but if not - I have posted close up photos of the issues here.

I should mention that other than these issues I have taken her for a run and she can complete her rotations very smoothly.

Problem 1 - although the rotation is smooth, the ink plate is not turning. It seems that the lever on the back that would normally push the ink plate around is not touching the plate. Does anyone have a close up on how this is supposed to look or can tell from the image what the problem is? Am I missing a part or is the lever just not hooked up correctly?

Problem 2 - the feed board arms appear to have been leaned on and were possibly rigged back together. Does anyone have a close up of how they are supposed to look? What should I do to fix these?

I have also included a photo of the roller/bed area. I am thinking I am going to need a new set of rollers and possibly trucks but wondered if you would take a look. The rollers havent been cleaned so they are a bit dusty.

Other than that - I have a few rust spots that I need to address and some other cosmetic issues but I think beyond that she is running well for such an old girl.

Here are the images. I wanted to provide very large images so I posted them off-site:

I also received a small Poco with the purchase of my Pearl. I have included an image of her as well in case anyone sees anything right away that looks strange. I have done a lot of research on the Pearl so I know a little about her but the Poco type press is totally foreign to me.

Thank you in advance for any help!
Brandi

I’m not real familiar with the #3. However, here’s a guess: The bottom end of the arm with the pawl on it for advancing the ink disc should maybe be behind the piece that is part of the roller arm assembly, so it gets moved by that “cam”. It also looks like perhaps the support bracket for the pawl lever is upside down and if reversed may raise the pawl arm up high enough to hit the ink disc, or maybe it’s just loose and sagging. $.02.

Thanks AdLib! My husband got the ink plate working now…Yeah! Now I can at least attempt a print!
