Putting this thing together! (3x5 Kelsey) - HELP!

I just got a 3x5 Kelsey, and I do not know how to put it together. I am ashamed to say, lol.

I have 4 main pieces. The main unit, the ink table (I know where that goes, just drop it in the top), the frame looking thing, then the platter with small handles on the side, looks like a miniature breakfast-in-bed tray. I put that little tray where I thought it needed to go…notch on the top under the spring-hinge clip, and the bottom has two metal feet that straddle the bottom bar of the main unit, but it is kinda loose and wobbly. It has two small metal protrusions on the bottom of each side…do those connect to anything? I do not see where they would.

Then I have the hollow rectangle frame thing…where does that go? I think I can figure out the rollers once I get those two pieces secured.

Thanks…I looked for a youtube video on this, and could not find one :(

Any/all help is appreciated!! Need to get this together in the next hour or two.

Please…anyone? It is just sitting in pieces on my floor in the other room. I need to get this put together! Thanks.

Don Black Linecasting has the Kelsey manual online at http://www.donblack.ca/kelsey/intro.htm (thanks, Don!) so that may help. Because the Kelsey has a removable bed (the tea-tray lookalike) it’s a bit different than many presses, but it sounds like you’re getting it in the correct place, maybe not just quite right, though. Then the chase (the rectangular frame, which will hold your type or plate) goes inside the bed. Note that the spring-loaded clip at top has a double notch, one notch for the bed, one for the chase, but both have to be held in place at the same time. If put in right, the bed shouldn’t be wobbly, or only slightly.
