Measurements & images from a Potter gripper assembly.

My Potter Number 2 was long ago stripped
of its grippers and feed table. Does anyone
have a complete press from which I can get
the details I need to fabricate a replacement?

I’m in Kansas City but am willing to travel.
It would be ideal if I could find one in the
Midwest, of course.

Mine has the same problem, but I do have most of the bits of the grippers (some a bit bent!) - and I asked a similar question a few months ago. A kind reply included photographs - but I still couldn’t quite see how it was meant to work. I’m afraid that I am rather a long way from Kansas - in New Zealand… If there is one here I could see that would be lovely! I could send you photographs of the bits I have if that would help…

I think Rick Von Holdt in Iowa has one of these.

I have recently acquired a Potter #2, also without grippers. I would love to find someone with grippers for sale of course - however, failing that I would appreciate closeup pictures of grippers and assembly so that I can make (have made) a reasonable replacement. If anyone can help or steer me in the right direction - I would appreciate it.

Has any one had any luck tracking down parts, or making them. I also have a #2 but would like to fit it with paper feed and auto inking.
