Using letterpress ink with a dip pen

I would like to use letterpress ink in place of water-solvent India Ink with a pointed dip pen, for doing small handlettering on a dried oil painting. The India Ink goes on fine, especially when it has a little shellac added to it, but it is susceptible to coming off after it dries, either because of scrapes or turpentine over it, and I also wonder about it’s longterm adherence to the oil painting surface.
I was thinking that an oil based ink, perhaps thinned with linseed oil or turp, would work here. ?????
