Huber inks for my Windmill.
Hello,
I haven’t found locally Van Son inks, but a distributor of the Huber inks. Have anyone ever tried these inks with his/her press? I’d like to take the Pantone series.
Thank you!
Fabio

any feedback?
thank you,
Fabio
Fabio, just offhand I can’t recall whether or not I’ve used any modern Huber ink (although I think I may have), but most any offset ink should work well on your press. Van Son ink is offset ink, and Huber ink should be comparable. I do have a few cans of Huber letterpress ink from 50+ years ago, and it seems very similar to today’s offset ink, too. For letterpress printing, I’ve used offset ink from a wide variety of manufacturers, and (with a very few exceptions) it works fine. But if you really have doubts, get a sample and try it.
Hello Dave,
thanks for the reply. I really appreciate a reply from a letterpress veteran!
thank you,
Fabio
I’ve tried the Huber inks, exactly Pantone Base Black cod. 49 F 51110 and it works.
