i have recently been given (!) a set of wooden type, and i want to clean it in a way that preserves it well. i use my california wash for everything else, but i’m wondering if it will harm the wood.

I’ve used Mineral spirits which conditions the wood since it’s an oil based product and Hamilton cleans with vegetable oil which is great and environmental friendly. Don’t use California Wash.

Kerosene also works very well and leaves a thin coating of oil on the surface.
