Windmill Black Paint
Almost finished removing years of dust and grime from my newly acquired windmill. Finding lots of spots where the black paint is worn away, wondering if anyone has any good tips for repainting. What kind of paint to use etc?

I used a good Oil Base Black gloss, I think it may have been Rustolium. I know I used some very fine steel wool to make sure all areas were clean with some mineral spirits to remove all impurities. I used a smaller brush with the finest in size of bristles to help apply a good finish. 2 Coats is good.
Congrats on your windmill.
THEO BELL
Thank you Theo Bell, that is great. Were you able to do most of it without taking things off or did you find it better to take parts off, lay them flat and paint them that way?
I only left everything together.
