Hi Bob

Thanks for your information on the type of press used by the British Military c.1800.

Given that these were manufactured by different companies over a number of centuries, do you or does anybody else know where I can find out the chronological order of the development of these type of printing presses from Gutenberg to the emergence of the iron press?

What a great forum and thanks to the people behind Briar Press and the people that participate in the discussions.

When looking at the wood cuts in this and other publications see how many you can spot that have been drawn with the screw thread going the wrong way.
