Please Help!

I love my shop, but nothing has gone right in 3 years. For health reason, I want the shop to go to person(s) that will make it work.

C4, Ludlow, V-50, 8x12 many fonts for both. Tools, shop is great, but, I have no time to make it work.

Did you post an ad in the classified section? There are also some letterpress groups on Facebook and Yahoo where you might be able post the contents of your shop. You’d probably get a better response if you gave a more detailed listing of the contents.

I am just going to scape it, make more money that way!

Aaron David, have you tried to see if anyone at the printing museum in Houston is interested? Hate to see working equipment get scrapped. Also are there any commercial equipment brokers in your area?
best james

The people at the museum in Houston, think they are better than me, offered many times to help them, they would return my calls.

I also am a member. In fact I worked only a few building over from them in the 70s at a typesetting house.

They want everything FREE but make every pay them to do anything in their building.

I think your best bet is to find an equipment broker. I know a guy I bought 2 presses and other various items for my growing shop from a few weeks ago. I am in Atlanta and he is in Waco and the equipment was all in Temple. I know he goes all over and is a stand up guy. PM me for his information if you are interested.

In the interest of preserving these pieces from the scrap yard I would highly recommend two things only if you are serious:
1 - Post on all outlets you can find; from list serves, Facebook letterpress groups, Briar press, etc and go the extra step of finding a broker who can find other printers who you may not otherwise have reach for. DO give more detail (modal numbers, serial, pictures, & condition of EACH piece) and DO NOT be afraid of parting out your shop. Chances of someone purchasing all pieces and actually having the ready cash is going to be difficult.

2 - Take your emotions out of it. I know by reading your posts you have been down a difficult path and that I am sorry but if you are truly serious about seeing these pieces keep from scrap and find the right home, you have to put that emotion aside and do what you can. Cover your cost and be happy it is not only going to be preserved and put to good use, but that you have this chapter behind you.

Again, sorry this has been a difficult road for you and wish you the best.

To everyone out, yes emotions shouldn’t be added to selling my equipment.

I felt this website was people that love printing, all types of printing a group, young, old, men, women all loving the art of printing.

Selling my shop, on this website, was for someone to take it that would love it also, not some that doesn’t care about the art of printing.

I asking a good parent to take my child I can no longer support.

I am sorry, not everyone this world has a good life, many of have GREAT pain.

A printer wins the lottery and asked what is he going to do now replies “keep printing till the money runs out”
Chin up Aaron you gave it your shot.
