C&P New Style 10 x 15 part needed

Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone has a C&P new style for parts? I’m looking for the piece that connects the gear guard to the delivery board (photo attached). Any help much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Chuck

Chuck,
I have one of those but not sure if it is from a 10 x 15 or a 12 x 18. Can you provide some measurements from yours? Where are you located?
John

Hi John,

Thanks for contacting me.

The overall length of the piece is 1 foot. Four inches between the screw holes. 3 and 7/8 inches from the delivery board to the top of the gear guard.

I’m in Sonoma County, CA.

Thanks again,

Chuck

Remove the broken part and have it repaired.

I’ve been told this is a difficult repair since the break goes through the screw holes. Is this something you can do?

A Good Welder can braze this with Nickel Rod.

I may be mistaken but I believe this part is there primarily for safety, shielding the gear from any stray fingers. I don’t the feed board requires this part and I am pretty sure the gear guard doesn’t require this for stability. So you could probably just JB Weld it yourself or have a welder put a couple spot welds on it and be ready to go.

Brad.

I second Brad- It’s not a part that is stressed by the mechanisms of the press. So a couple spot welds or a braze/fill/re-drill where the holes were and you’re good to go. The repair would make the most sense to me logistically.

Chuck,

does it look like the feedboard has been putting to much strain onto that piece, then got bashed so it fractured? Does the feedboard need supporting more level to avoid it happening again?
