Replacing Measuring Tape On Cutter

I purchased a 193 Style H C&P cutter and got it the other day. Last night I was unpacking and getting it ready to use. The tape was wrapped and I placed the roller in place. But, how to you connect the tape. I closed the back stop all the way, and the tape is short as far as connect to the post.

It also has a spring on one end of the tape. I hope the photo helps.

The two ends are both attached with the spring, then there is a little slot you close over the tape after it is looped through that allows you to calibrate the adjustment.

Another question

the motor is 115/230 the plug looks like I can put in the 110 socket on the wall.

It has a electrical box with a on and off button on the cutter.

If that is the plug it has, the motor is likely currently configured for 110. Give it a try.

There is probably a schematic for the 115 vs 230 configurations inside the cover of that box on the motor.
