Stompin Tom Connors

F. A. O. Canadian Buddies.
Absolutely nothing to do with Print Inc. L/Press except it is from an alleged Printer/Typecaster,!!!

Re, *Stompin* Tom Connors, and His Bud the Spud, trucking song… Ignoring the Ferry crossing from, P.E.I. (maybe poetic license) He, Stompin Tom appears to Sing/Suggest that from Cape Tormentine N.B. to Hamilton Place Ontario, at NEARLY 1,000 miles can be achieved between even early A.M. to even later P.M. in one hit.????
Is it physically possible, is it technically possible, or is it Stompin Tom winding up the Ontario Provincial Police, and others.!

Fantastic Ambassador for CA. NA, DA. Sadly missed.

Mick,

You have good taste in music!

1600 km in a day? With two drivers to avoid exhaustion, easily possible. I’m sitting beside my brother in law that just arrived from a 1,100 kilometre trip, made in 14 hours, including stops and taking it easy because he was hauling a big trailer. We have long stretches of uninterrupted highway here. You can easily drive 3 or 4 hours without touching the brake pedal.

Toronto to Winnipeg over 2000 kms in one day.

Keelan, Thank You, yes we can appreciate the potential distances that you have to play with, but also get brainwashed with Tachograph hours, and whether relief drivers can use the sleeper cab etc.
Before I get ex-communicated by the P.C. brigade would like to think that one has a reasonable taste in music, not yet established if the Maple Leaf flies above your Shop.??

Commercial for L/Press follows:-

Since 1954 virtually every Print Shop one has worked in, visited, been involved with, has a Radio or Radios, Sound System, even the factory *Tannoy* with music pumping out.
Unfortunately 2 places where the sound was lost.

Firstly, in the Finishing/Bindery depts. drowned out by the Scream from the close tolerance of the rollers on Big folding M/c,s Camco,s etc.
Secondly, the Monotype casting dept, even with just 2 Casters both at *FULL TILT* (in Homage to Janis Joplin,s Band)?? even with the Volume cranked up,the Bass/Base shook the Coffee cups of the shelf and seriously Jarred of the Keyboard Ops, next door.

And where a larger plant was involved, 6/7/8 Monotype,s there often had to be a Red flashing light to back up the Fire Alarm.

Keelan, thanks again but Don`t incur the wrath of the P.C. brigade on my account.

Mike C. thank you also.

Mick, it was merely a friendly nod to your appreciation of Stompin’ Tom. No judgement of your taste in music, or the musical tastes of non-Canadians was intended.

I think I need to increase my use of disclaimers to clearly identify the intent of any ambiguous emotions in my communiques. Please accept my apologies. No phone calls were made to the P.C. Brigade.
