50-pound S&SC book

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what “50-pound S&SC book” means? I’m thinking the SC may mean supercalendered but no idea what the combination is. This is from the Operating Instructions and Parts List for Chandler & Price Pilot Press. It’s in a short discussion about packing behind the tympan paper.

Thanks.

Right. It means sized and supercalendered. Smooth and dense.

Thanks! I knew someone was bound to know. I grew up in the newspaper business around presses but, well, that’s been a long time ago. I appreciate the answer.
