Wire Binding Machines

We are wanting to make journals and have started looking at wire binding machines. Just curious if anyone has thoughts, advice, suggestions on what to look for in a good machine. Favorite brands or features or things to be aware of/stay away from.
Thanks!

Don’t get the “double-wire” machines, which use the same punch pattern as plastic combs. It is a flimsy binding.
I have manual binders from James Burns (Wire-o) and Renz. 3:1 punch pattern is used for thinner bindings, and 2:1 for thicker. If you are only doing letter size, any machine will do but if you want varied formats you want to control which punches are active so you aren’t nicking the edges.
