Someone recently sent me an email via Briar from a post I made here recommending Mohawk 50/10 Ultra as a good letterpress reproduction paper. Unfortunately I lost the email, so hopefully this will suffice.
Their problem was with Mohawk 50/10 Matte not printing well digitally. Well, the Matte is a new formulation of the old Ultra, which was a reformulation of the old Plus.
I don’t know about letterpress reproduction using the Matte, but yes, it does seem to be problematic with digital work. I seem to get a lot of toner scatter. Just when you think you have found the Holy Grail, they go and mess with it.
