Heidelberg T platen distributor roller help

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I recently purchased a red knob and I’m getting it up and running. However, I’m having an issue with the Rubber distributor rollers. I feel like I’m missing a part or, the rollers are the wrong diameter (currently 50mm or 2”).

The problem is while the machine is running the rubber distributor roller isn’t rolling on the drum. I’ve attached a couple of photo’s, please let me know if you need anything else or know what I’m missing.

Thank you,

YZ

Not a Heidelberg platen guy, so take this for what it’s worth, but the Heidelberg Cylinder has three settings for the ink ductor, one for no ink feed, one for ink feed while on impression, and one for ink feed without impression.
It’s easier to get when the press isn’t marked in German.

Pg 86 of the Heidelberg manual on Letterpress Commons; describes placing and adjusting the journals that hold that roller. Once you place the roller in the journals, the whole thing swings down to make contact with the drum. Then you can adjust it as needed. Hope this helps.

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. From the manual it looks like I’m missing one metal roller and a manifold that pins the rollers down to the drum. If anyone has a close up photo of the distributor rollers behind the drum that would be very helpful.

Thanks again!! I’m making the jump from a c+p so I’ve got a lot to learn

I’ve taken some pics of what your roller setup should look like. These show more detail… see notes on the picture titles
