Nolan No. 3 Proof Press Bed Pins

Cleaning up my Nolan No. 3 proof press and seem to be running into some issues finding the right bed pins. #5 and #6 taper pins are too small. The #6 is pretty close, but still a bit of wiggle room. Strangely — a spare clutch pin from a Vandercook #4 fits perfectly.

Is the clutch pin a standard taper pin size?

The No. 4 clutch pins are 3/8” in diameter. They are straight not tapered. I have recommended old ones as bed pins for office presses for several years. Larger pins, for example on the Vandercook No. 3 or SP series are 1/2” above the bed and stepped or turned down to 7/16” for the hole.
