I met a fellow today by the name of Ray Buse from Phoenix, Arizona. He’s my age, which means ancient, but he’s been printing since he has been 15. He lost his make up rule and he’s been lost without it, which is surprising because his firm, Buse Printing, hires over 40 people doing offset, screen, engraving, and a has a strong letterpress operation plus all the electronic stuff. It was a delight to hear him describe all the work his firm does, that he owns it all with no debt, and that he’s passing the business on to his son, who also loves printing.
