C.R. Carver guillotine, seeking any information and cast iron repair advice
Greetings! I just acquired and likely saved from the scrapyard this huge and beautiful well kept cutter. The person I got it from was able to load it onto the pickup with a forklift but I had to dismantle it to get it off the truck at home. Unfortunately one of the swing arms (not sure of proper name) that held the blade from above broke in the process. I’m looking for advice on which route to take for repair or replacement of the part and what would be a reasonable price for the work, I’m in Atlanta if anyone has a specific recommendation for someone who could do the job. Also I couldn’t find really any info about the company online and would love to know more.

Because those parts are under compression when cutting paper, a skilled welder could either weld the break or forge-braze it and it will be strong enough to work, actually as strong as new.
