how can i find someone to answer basic hands on questions
I bought a Sigwalt 6x9 press about 5+ years ago. new rollers, two chases. have type, other basic things. there used to be several letterpress printers in my area, older hobbyists i think, all older men. all gone. one in baltimore i bought lots of his stuff.
i just need someone to answer really basic questions on how to use the press and actually print.
i have some books and watch youtube.
how to remove rollers and reattach rollers, position the paper, make ready.
i waited too long to ask the older printers i met. now all gone.
hoping someone here can help me out.
i am fine to use a phone with camera to use to work with anyone.
I’d be glad to help with advice and suggestions, off-list. I have a Sigwalt Nonpareil 6x9 on which I have printed most of what I produced over a 60-year period. Once you understand the principles on which it works and how preparation and clean-up can be done easily and quickly that press is a pleasure to use and can with care produce fine printing.
