Dimensions of C&P, Kluge, etc..

I’m looking to get a full size press, but the place I’m thinking of using it has access through a regular door (30” wide I think). Does anyone know the rough WIDTH and HEIGHT of some popular presses? This will assist in deciding WHICH press to seek out.

Oh, fantastic!!! now, how difficult is it to partially strip/full strip one of these presses? do I need special tools?

You’d need to remove the pinion gear and then pull the crankshaft. Leave the flywheel on the crankshaft. The pinion gear may be very difficult to remove as the key holding it in may be stuck. Use some penetrating oil, gear puller, and maybe even a torch to heat the area. This should make things a little easier to move.

It’s not easy, but it can be done. Depending on the door, you may also be able to pivot an 8x12 through the opening. Remove the feed/delivery boards, close the press and pivot. Depends on your clearances.

What press are you using now?
