Removal of Handle from Vandercook sp20

I have to move my Vandercook SP20 in the next week. The doors of the new shop cannot accomodate the width of the press unless I remove the handle. Has anyone done this? Is ist simply remove the screws and bolts or is it more problematic?

Thanks

I seem to recall that the handle on the SP presses was held in place with a tapered pin which could be tapped out from the narrow end. It may also have had a locking nut on the narrower end. I’ve had one off, but it has been awhile.

Mr. Henry is right. There is a small lock screw and the taper pin. You should be able to tap it out rather easily.
