Letterpress Inks

Hi-

I’m hoping someone can give me some feedback about bringing inks into Australia. I’m just new to letterpress and was about to order my inks {& base & other items} from Boxcar Press, when I realised that they only ship to US & Canada.

1} Is there anywhere in Australia that sells the same ink that Boxcar does? {I’ve looked & been unsucessful in finding anyone.}

2} Are inks able to be brought into the country or are they going to be taken off me at Quarantine?

Any advice will be welcome and appreciated. :)

Boxcar sells VanSon Inks and you should be able to get them in Australia.

Not sure about Australian vendors (though I’m sure they exist), but we do ship internationally, including to Australia. Our website’s shopping cart can only process online orders from the US or Canada, so you’d have to phone, email, or fax your order. We would be happy to help you with your order if you email order (at) boxcarpress.com, phone 0011 1 315 473 0930 or fax 0011 1 315 473 0967. I don’t think there’s any reason that inks would be quarantined necessarily.

Oh dear Boxcar Press, you are an answer to all of lifes conundrums. Thank you so much for your feedback and putting to rest my deep seated fears that I wouldn’t be able to purchase my inks from you.

Thank you Brad for the link. I used to live in Melbourne and had NO idea that Mes was around. I’m going back in a couple of weeks & plan on stopping in. :) Thanks!! :)
