Help! Missing 1 Piece on C&P 6x10

Hi everyone!

We are currently restoring a great Chandler and Price Pilot, saved from the trash! We notice that one spring is missing. (See photo). It’s called the Gripper Bar and Gripper Bar Spring. Does anyone know if this spring is vital to the printing process? The press seems to work without it, but we’re waiting on new rollers before we know for sure. If we do need it, does anyone know of where we can find one? We’d really appreciate it!

I believe Dave Churchman sells these. You’ll want it if you plan on using the grippers.
