Craftsmen is this a Monarch or Superior?

Hello, I am looking into getting my first press. I have found this one which I find to be a good deal looking at about $400. Can anyone tell me which model this is. There are no specifications of the size but it looks to be at least 6x10? I have found it looking similar to the Monarch and the Superior but I see no markings on the device. I hope there is still a place to get rollers and trucks to start of with, too.

Thanks for any help.

Rollers and trucks are not difficult to procure. Be certain to get the chase as it is not seen in the photos. The gripper bar spring is incorrect but we have these in stock. In the absence of the chase, to determine press size, measure the diameter of the ink disc subtract an inch and you have the approximate length of the chase. A 6 1/2 X 10 chase would be much easier to find than the 9 X 13 chase. Let’s hope a chase is included. It does indeed look like a Craftsmen.

PS Found the press ad
, It is a 6.5 x 10

Thanks Tom! The problem is I can’t see this in person to measure anything it is based of these pics. It is not in my area. However the chase is included though not shown in the images above so that isn’t an issue.

I’d say grab it — that is a good price and a good press. You can get rollers from a number of sources and trucks from most of them. Feed board is easy. But if at all possible go pick it up — don’t have it shipped. The repairs will cost more than the trip.

If you can score the bracket that allows the use of an upper feed board that pivots. If you can’t go fetch the press, insist on a wooden crate… on which the press is bolted to the base. It will have to ship via common carrier as it is too heavy for UPS. No cardboard boxes… ever.

Craftsm e n, not to be confused with Chandler & Price Craftsm a n presses.
