Anybody still using a compositor’s candle stick? :)

Setting small fonts by candlelight must have been very difficult

I would love to see some of the old designs because in the historic village where I volunteer, our 1860’s print shop is open at night during Halloween, and in December for the Christmas season.

I just stick a candle in the k box.

I think I would rather have something to catch the wax drippings so as not to have to pick it off the k’s when I needed them.

That reminds me of a print shop where I worked in the 60’s where the owner smoked cigars, and there were cigar ashes in every case.
