Selling this C&P new style 8 x 12 letterpress, Serial # B61312, which puts it being made in late 1929 (or so). Motorized (no foot treadle). I generally used it by hand-turning the wheel.
I have had it for maybe 15 years, and used it sparingly to make broadsides (linocut prints with minimal text). It deserves a home where it will be used more regularly. Comes with everything you would need to get started — one set of type, furniture, chases, quoins, etc. If you are interested in making commercial-quality work you would probably want to get the rollers refurbished or replaced.
For transportation: it is mounted on treads and I have a bunch of sections of metal pole to help roll it. It is in a garage with alley access (no stairs, though a slight incline up), so loading should be straight-forward (though it is a beast, of course).
There are a couple minor things that are broken. (1) the cast iron attachment for the feedboard; and (2) a steel bar that attaches the speed control lever to the motor. Both of these are fixable without too much effort.
See Youtube link below for video showing the press and the access to the alley for loading.
$750.
