Selling my complete letterpress shop as one package: a Vandercook Universal I proof press, a Challenge paper cutter, and a pallet jack to make moving it all straightforward. I bought the press in 2006 from a bookbinder in Austin, TX. It was shipped to West Seattle in 2016 where it was used to print wedding invitations until I moved to a new house in 2020 where I didn’t have space for it. It’s been stored with a friend in Pasadena since (another letterpress hobbyist). I plan to move out of the country and so it’s time to find this lovely press a new home.
The press is a complete, well-maintained setup that’s ready to go straight into production – plug in, ink up, and print. Rollers are in good condition with automatic washup, extra tympan, aluminum base, lockbar, roller setting gauge, and other various tools.

The equipment is located in Pasadena, CA and available to view by appointment. Pickup only; buyer is responsible for transportation and moving (the pallet jack included in the sale should make loading easier). Happy to answer any questions about the press, cutter, or jack.
