I’ve tried to repair a Kelsey platen on a couple of instances without a lot of luck. That part is fairly heavily loaded, and needs to be quite flat, so it’s not an easy repair.
Replacements should not be too terribly hard to come by though. NA Graphics should be able to help you, or at least steer you to a source of supply. I’ve also seen parts listed on E-Bay from time to time.
I have successfully repaired a hairline crack on my Kelsey 3x5 type bed using a product called JB Weld (the slow cure version); available everywhere. It may work if you are in a jam. It is like epoxy. Just clean the break, apply and clamp overnight.
