general question

hey guys,
i originally started letterpressing my own illustrations. Now i have gotten small jobs for business cards and invitations.
I don’t have a lot of resources, such as type.

Would it be considered heresy to have a plate made just for the for the entire invitation or business card? I could imagine this could be okay for a business card if they wanted a re-order, so i don’t have to reset the type again.

Is this just a wasteful process, or is it pretty common?

This is pretty common procedure. If you don’t have the means to set type, it may be your only option.
