Max Temperature for Storing a Nolan & Line-o-scribe Proof Press

Hello,
We’ve got a Nolan Proof Press and Line-o-Scribe proof press that we may need to store in a house with no a.c. Wondering if the printing cylinders (each one has the rubber[?] covered printing cylinder) can withstand temps in the 90s and possible high humidity.
Many Thanks for your help.

The temperature you mentioned should not be an issue. The Nolan was made to use in shops without airconditioning, and certainly will have no difficulty. If you are going to be storing them and not using them, coat the exposed (unpainted) surfaces with a film of oil to keep from rusting if the humidity is going to be high.

What John says is true. However, I have a fairly large Lino -o-Scribe press that was just small enough for me to manhandle and get into the truck myself to take to places I could do demos on it or print posters for whatever event it was at.

I got tired of schlepping it up and down the basement steps so I left it out in the garage for a period of time. Big mistake! The rubber impression roller is just fine, but this press also had three inking rollers that could be pulled back and forth over an oscillating ink disk at the end of the press. The inking rollers melted on me during a hot and humid Iowa summer!

I have stored Nolans in the garage and even the barn at times with no issues other than protecting them from rust.
