Suggested cost for a Challenge 15 GP in great condition?

I have recently moved to a new state and have a Challenge 15 GP that is in fantastic working condition. I purchased the press from a local shop and it was pretty much used for die cutting and not much else since it was purchased. I printed a few projects on it and it works like a dream. I am wanting to know what presses like these sell for these days as I am not sure I want to invest the money to move it long distance. Any ideas on what the press is worth or what I might sell it for would be much appreciated!

In part, the answer to your question depends on: “where are you” and ” where are you moving”?

Challenge cylinder proof presses are not easy to find; so, if you really want one at your new location, you should seriously consider moving it. A Challenge MA 15 or MP 15 weight 700-750 lbs and is not too difficult to move. Besides, if you buy one at your new location, you are going to need to move the new press. These presses can have wheels installed on the base and can be rolled.

BTW: Are you sure its a GP 15 and not a MA 15 or MP 15? I have a MP 15 and its a nice press and not as big as some of other cylinder presses.

Good luck

I owners manual for the GP 15 on the Challenge website. Appears to be bigger than the MA and MP 15’s. I would
still consider moving it - if you want a press at your new location.

Yes, those seem to be quite rare these days. It’s almost certain it would be cheaper to move the press than try and buy another one when you’ve moved. For one thing, you’d probably not find one local to you even when you have moved, so you’d still have to pay for moving anyway.

Thanks for the advice. Any idea what would be a good price to ask for it anyway? It is a GP 15 large and in charge!
