Local Museum ID Part 3

OK, this is the biggest of the three - Need rollers and trucks - and maybe a little oil! :) Ink Plate looks like it could use some TLC.

It’s pretty hard to tell what make of press it is from the very limited angle of the photos — but it appears likely it is a 7x11 or 8x12 size. It does look like a Gordon-style press, versions of which were made by a number of companies after Gordon’s patents expired. Chandler & Price put their name on the cross-bar connecting the back ends of the roller arms, and I believe some other companies did also. The throw-off doesn’t look like a C&P version to me. Assuming the chase on the feedboard belongs, at least you have that and rollers with trucks, so it looks complete.

The ink disc and other rust should clean up OK with steel wool and something like kerosene or WD-40, although there will be a residual stain of the cast iron that you won’t be able to remove without major surgery.
