Can someone from this talented group identify these?

Can someone from this talented group identify these? Or maybe point me in the right direction to get information on them.

I am guessing that they are 2 color? Wondering how these were sold…in sets of 2 or larger sets. I don’t want to break up a set unknowingly.

Thanks so very much.

What does the side look like? Does it have a pinmark?

Thanks for the reply.

I will have to look in the morning and get back to you.

I just took a quick picture before I left work.

There’s something very ATF about the way the matrix numbers are marked, but I didn’t quickly spot them in my specimen books. How large are they? It looks like you have some for single color settings and others for two.

Hi Ann, They are pretty large. I am guessing t least 72 pt…I do not have them in front of me. I will get that information in the morning as well.

Thanks

Ok I am back with the requested information.

The larger ones are marked with a 24 on the bottom side.
Photo attached.

The larger ones are 144pt x 24pt

The smaller ones are 94pt 14pt

Again, many thanks for any direction that you can offer me.

Look like ugly ties.

They are, I believe, furled American Flags, as you would see displayed indoors at a meeting or other event. I am guessing a “flagpole” could be added with rule below the casting. Yes, some of those are two color ornaments.

The ATF “Design with Type Planning Book” of 1955 depicts these cast cuts in the ornaments section. They were available in 2 sizes as shown - in both single and 2 color versions. The disclaimer regarding use of the U.S. flag image in advertising is at the top of the same page.

Thank you,Michael. Thank you also to Butch in AZ.

Three sizes of these flags were introduced in ATF’s 1944 ornament catalog
.
The larger two (minus the 96pt) were again shown in the 1955 catalog.

We planned to list these on Ebay but will be keeping them for personal use.

Many thanks to those who helped to identify these.

Awesome cuts. Very patriotic; today is a good day to have this question answered!!
